Stir Fry Basil with Seafood, at Khao Hom by Rung Mama

Introducing, Stir Fry Seafood with Thai Basil. It's not a new dish in that just being invented, but it's a new dish in Khao Hom. Another authentic Thai food, served in Khao Hom by Rung Mama - an Authentic Thai Restaurant in Ang Mo Kio Neighborhood.

We have made the video introductions (introduced by our in-house model of Khao Hom) of the dishes before - which you can watch it below. Scroll more after the video for the excerpt.

TL;DR:

Basil leaves is actually in the family plant of mints, like the one you found in your mojito (look at my coffee cup ☕, and thinking to change to the 'stronger' one 🍺) The Basil leave (โหระพา) we use is the one planted in Thailand, therefore it has different taste than the one from your mojito.

It's flavor is very different from the other basil, it has slight purple color on it's stem, it has this distinctive fragrance, that I can't really describe it besides it smells like 'Home' - well my home is different from your home, so you can leave us a comment below on how Thai basil smells like for you. The other thing that is different is, it's taste - though all mint leaves are generally spicy, but this spiciness has it's own characteristic. So a reminder to those that can't take spicy at all: Basil is a mint leave, therefore it has this spicy feelings and without additional spicy enhancer like Chilli Padi.

This Stir Fry Basil with Seafood is cooked mixing local ingredients with the imported spices resulting salty and spicy taste to the food. It's good enough to eat it just by itself, but Khao Hom is always there to support the taste (you). Eat with steamed fragrant rice and makes your meal complete, and eat it at Khao Hom by Rung Mama, to make your day even brighter!!

We will see you at Khao Hom by Rung Mama, an Authentic Thai Restaurant, serving only the food authentic from Thailand.
